Oh stop your whining already, no one cares that Europeans (or other non-Americans) pay more. At least your quality of life is greater than that of the typical narrow-sighted American. Feel good about that, and just pay more for the software.

“…no one cares that Europeans (or other non-Americans) pay more.”
Most Europeans and other non-Americans tend to care. I know I do.

I don’t like being charged almost $20 for a magazine just because it comes from England, where it would sell for something like 6 or 7 pounds. Or taking a trip to England and having to pay over $10 for a cheap meal at McDonalds.
With that out of the way, I think it is insane that they don’t just price Photoshop at what it’s worth based on the exchange rate. (And looking at the list in the site linked in the previous post, I find it strange that CS3 Web Premium costs 200 euros more in France than in the Netherlands.)
Of course, the real culprit is the exchange rate. The US Dollar has fallen drastically compared to the European currencies in the past couple years. Where a pound used to cost just over $1.50, it now costs $2.00.
I always thought that all of the world’s “stable” currencies should be hedged, or fixed against one another. I’m not an economist, and I don’t know all the ramifications of hedging the world’s currencies, but I believe it would do more good than bad.
